Let’s start with what got me into real estate. I purchased my first home in late 2006, at the height of the market, right before the real estate crash. At the time, I remember feeling like there was no chance I would ever regain the equity I had lost.

A few years later, I was taking a finance class as a part of the MBA program at Westminster College. The professor assigned us to analyze our current assets and write a personal investment strategy. In this analysis, I realized that my home had rebounded and become (by far) my strongest financial asset. And then I realized this “asset” had provided me with something more – Autonomy. Freedom. Choice.

After almost 15 years managing a local business, I decided to make a change. I wanted to help others achieve the same feeling of financial security and autonomy that owning a home has brought to me. I decided to jump into the real estate world and joined my good friends at Market Source Real Estate – Monique and Jeremy Higginson. And I couldn’t be happier!

Outside of finding my clients their perfect home, or working with clients to understand the in’s and out’s of selling their home, I enjoy spending time in any of the numerous wild lands of Utah. Whether it’s camping in the mountains, road tripping through Utah’s small towns, or hiking in the red rock canyons of southern Utah, I LOVE it! I feel lucky to live in a city so centrally located to such inspiring places. When I’m not exploring areas outside the city, I love supporting local farmers at the various SLC markets, hiking Millcreek canyon, or just sitting by the fire-pit in my backyard enjoying the simple pleasures in life.

I’d love to hear more about you when we meet in person! I always love to talk shop!

Dave Madsen’s motto is to “Add Value” to your Real Estate experience.

Dave received an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah but after his 2nd year he did a 12 month stint in Paris working with top interior Designer Diane Burn in her partnership with Architectural Digest. The work in France was selected from a photo shoot for the cover of AD & an editorial story. From this experience the charm of the Housing Market & Design was enough to convince Dave that Real Estate was a career he wanted to pursue. He returned home to Salt Lake City to finish his Bachelors degree parallel to getting a Real Estate license in Utah.

Dave has been involved as a Real Estate & Design Consultant even since. Past experience includes Investments, Investors. Working with Buyers & Sellers, Managing for Landlords, Drafting up Leases for Tenants, Corporate Relocation & Renovation. He also received a Short Sale & Foreclosure Certification to help client transactions during the 2008 recession.

In conclusion it is most important for Dave to “Add Value” in a transaction & get the deal done so All parties win.

Because I make a living as an attorney by day, I am lucky to call real estate a hobby, so the fact that I’m into real estate just for the satisfaction of helping people find and obtain the perfect property sets me apart.

Being an attorney also means I have a lot of practice reading and writing legal documents, so while I’m not acting as a legal adviser in the real estate world, practice from my day job will certainly transfer in a helpful way to my real estate clients.

I became an agent in addition to my day job as an attorney simply because I think it’s really fun. It’s fun to help search for the perfect place, fun to get a glimpse into people’s lives via their current or desired future home, and fun to consider all the pros and cons of each potential deal.

I specialize in helping homebuyers who are excited to purchase their first home because I love their excitement. I also work with those looking to downsize because I understand that taking a minimalist approach to life can be freeing. And finally, I help people who are relocating from other cities or states, as I did that myself and understand the complications of moving to a new area.

I have a background in teaching, business ownership, and marketing, all of which benefit my clients. Because of my digital marketing skills, my client’s properties are well advertised and reach a large audience. I know how to communicate important information and educate both buyers and sellers because of teaching, and my experience owning a strength and conditioning facility has taught me managerial and operational skills that keep me organized and thinking ten steps ahead. ” I am passionate about real estate because home is where we can truly be ourselves. As an agent, I get to help others find the place that they’ll call their own, where they’ll make memories. I also love to help sellers because change can be freeing. Procuring a buyer for their home allows them to move on to the next exciting opportunity life has to offer, and what’s more important than that! When I’m not working, I enjoy reading and writing, mountain biking, skiing, and traveling with my husband, Pete. I’m a board member of Schools to End Poverty, a non-profit that builds schools and supports children around the world, and of Festa Italiana, Salt Lake City’s Italian festival. I’m also an active member of The League of Utah Writers and of The Italian-American Civic League.

Being an interior designer in the residential and commercial industries for the past 12 years allows me to look at spaces with a different perspective. When I walk into a home I look for the potential, I look at how the space has been used and how it might be improved. I can help guide your family to the home of your dreams. There are so many houses in the Salt Lake area that need minimal amounts of work to become livable and beautiful. If you want to dive deeper into the remodel, we can have those conversations as well!

Really, my areas of expertise are seeing a property’s potential. I can look at what is in front of me, change a few things (different paint colors, furniture layout, bathroom or kitchen remodel, etc.), and get you and your family into a house that fits your needs and style. Real Estate, for me, is the combination of incorporating my design background and fulfilling my need to help families find a wonderful place to live. I believe everyone should have a home that they love and can’t wait to spend time in. This career allows me and my family to have flexibility in our lifestyles and the ability to pursue the outdoor activities we love. It is a perfect combination of all of things that really drive me to work hard and play hard! I am an avid reader, mountain biker, runner, skier and animal lover! My husband and I spend most weekends outside camping, running, mountain biking, or hanging out by a river with beers in hand.

When we are able, we love to travel overseas and experience different cultures. In these places, we always take the time to check out the local architecture, design, museums, and most importantly, the local cuisine.

I have 20 years of customer service experience. Listening to understand, finding solutions and getting results are skills that will benefit home sellers and buyers. I have been actively involved in community outreach, volunteerism and fundraising. I am excited to keep that a core value in my Real Estate business.

It has been said that “There isn’t any person you wouldn’t have love for once you knew their story.” This illuminates my passion for Real Estate because I believe in the intricate details of each human’s experience, the value home, and the beauty of community that brings it all together. In Real Estate, I get to be a part of many stories as we work together to find a home that elevates their lives.

I love spending time with my family, dancing to live music and being out in nature. My favorite is when I get to experience all of these at once!

Jeremy Higginson has been in the real estate business since 2000. Many agent’s first sale is a purchase of their own home. Jeremy started buying, renovating, and selling homes with his ex-wife four years before becoming a real estate agent. “The experience of fixing houses to sell for more money, has spring boarded me to understanding the value of remodeling and staging homes.” says Jeremy.

You might find him running the streets and parks of Sugar House and the Liberty Park area. He was a college swimmer at the University of Utah and has since competed in marathons, triathlons, and long distance open water swim races.
